Our mission was to craft a versatile haven, a harmonious blend of an Art Studio and Summerhouse, designed to be embraced by our client’s entire family. The transformation began by stripping away the low ceiling of the former workshop, unveiling a pitched roof that became the canvas for our vision. Through strategic enhancements, we aimed to flood the space with natural light, creating an inspiring environment suitable for artistic pursuits.
By removing the confining low ceiling, we revealed the expansive pitched roof that became a focal point of the studio’s design. Skylights, large windows, and double doors adorned the front elevation, while an additional window at the rear ensured an abundance of natural light—a prerequisite for the creative process, especially in the realm of painting.
The studio’s kitchen and storage area burst with vibrancy, featuring a stainless steel back panel and a striking colour palette of blue and yellow. This bold choice injects energy into the space, establishing a lively ambiance that complements the artistic spirit of the studio.
At one end of the studio, a carefully crafted lounge area takes centre stage. Anchored by a log burner, this space beckons relaxation and contemplation. The pitched ceiling allowed us to maximize height, enabling the creation of bespoke shelving for our client to showcase artworks and cherished objects, transforming the studio into a personal gallery.
